Quick Update: Just finished mixing/co-producing the latest album by The Lions for Stones Throw Records!! Many roars, space echoes and dusty soul wails on this great collection of new tunes! Can't wait for it's release in Fall!! Also, here at SunKing Studios in the last few weeks: mixed the latest release for The Expanders super-roots with a touch of dub-styles, mixing for Kinski Gallo's "Tropicalia Mysticalia" record - latin electro with Cumbias, Merengues, Salsas, Norteñas!, and mixing for the new DIA record - elegant, sensual, and mysterious indie rock! Hope you have a phat week!!

OMG, So Much Catching Up!!

It's been WAY too long since I've been to website-ville for an update...I'll, hopefully, be back to share a lot more cool music that I've been recording and mixing with you soon...To hold you over, I'll leave you with these: Neighbors (starring Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Zac Efron and Dave Franco) Score I had the pleasure of recording and mixing this score for composer Mike Andrews. This movie is hilarious! And it has wall-to-wall jamz thanks to Mike's score and Aperture's music supervision! Check it out next week!!

Made In Heights !!! Over the past 6 months I have been mixing many projects for producer Sabzi (Blue Scholars). The main project of his right now is his group called "Made In Heights" with singer/lyricist Kelsey Bulkin. So many releases planned for the near future! Here are a few from the end of the year:

TOKiMONSTA Back in September, Amir Yaghmai invited me to record and mix a live Pandora session of TOKiMONSTA at The Village Recorder Studios here in LA. Here's a little peak into the mixing of this session by way of a vid that Tokimonsta took at SunKing Studios (my studio): Instagram video

Catching Up!! The first half of 2013 has been a busy one!! After The Lions release of This Generation on Stones Throw Records in February, us Lions have been lucky enough to play at the Rio Loco Festival in Toulouse, France and today we played on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic with Jason Bentley!! Last week, "The Heat" premiered!! I had the pleasure of recording/mixing Michael Andrews' score for with Robert Walter and Manish Raval!!

Also, I had the pleasure of recording/mixing a few songs for 20 Feet From Stardom with Mike Andrews producing and a whole host of rad LA musicians playing on it (including Robert Walter).

Speaking of Robert Walter, his band The 20th Congress just released a record that we recorded a couple years back and mixed last summer! Check out "Get Thy Bearings"!!

and also, The Greyboy Allstars (Mike Andrews, Robert Walter, Chris Stillwell and Aaron Redfield) released their latest record in years that I recorded and mixed a couple tunes for. Check out "Inland Emperor" here on iTunes!!
